Metro Ready Mix enables Metro Pavers and other construction companies to meet the need for quality ready-mix concrete in Eastern Iowa’s growing communities. With four plants in Iowa City, Coralville and Cedar Rapids and a mobile ready-mix unit that expands our production capabilities, we serve the Iowa Department of Transportation and local municipalities, developers and contractors. In addition, we have the experience and capabilities to provide concrete for Federal Aviation Administration, Army Corps of Engineers and Veterans Administration projects.
What sets us apart
What sets us apart
Focused on Sustainable Productivity
Iowa is a place of abundant natural beauty, and we are committed to maintaining our state’s environmental resources. As such, Metro Ready Mix uses sustainable practices and technology that enhance productivity and are kind to the environment.
To improve efficiency and eliminate paper tickets, we implemented an e-ticketing system called Connex. The system’s real-time concrete delivery status enables construction supervisors to plan work according to when the concrete will arrive.
In addition, we adopted CarbonCure technology, which reduces greenhouse gas emissions by fixing carbon dioxide (CO2) in the concrete mix. Turning the CO2 into a mineral makes the finished roads stronger while preventing the gas from escaping into our environment. Not only does CarbonCure reduce our costs by reducing the amount of materials required, it also significantly reduces the carbon footprint of concrete.
Metro Ready Mix is a member of the Iowa Concrete Ready Mix Association.
Innovative.
Committed.
Dependable.

Airports
Eastern Iowa Airport
The parking lot expansion project at Eastern Iowa Airport (CID) in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, allocates parking for long-term travelers. With the expansion of parking farther from the terminal entrance, this grants more flexibility for short-term parking, employee parking, and departure and arrival parking. The achievement of this project within a one year time frame is an indicator of our precision and diligence. Metro Pavers completed an apron expansion and taxiway project for the Eastern Iowa Airport (CID) in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This project involved the connection of an aircraft path with aprons, hangars, terminals, and other facilities. The expansion of the airport apron allows for more room to park aircraft, refuel, and maintain planes. This project ran over 2 years. We are proud to have worked with the Eastern Iowa Airport (CID) on their recent apron expansion and taxiway project. This project involved the connection of an aircraft path with aprons, hangars, terminals, and other facilities. The expansion of the airport apron allows for more room to park aircraft, refuel, and maintain planes. This project took a little over two years to complete.
